Angle key wrenches – a must-have for every workshop

What’s it called again? You may know the angle key wrench by a different name. We will be happy to explain why we use this name and why angle key wrenches are so practical.

Key wrench, hex key, Allen key – a definition of terms

To start by dispelling with a myth: key wrenches are defined by their shape and not by the corresponding screw profile. This also means that a key wrench often, though not always, features a hexagon socket. Just like other spanners, we also offer key wrenches with a Torx, slotted or 5-star profile.

An Allen key, in contrast, always has a hexagon socket and is also a brand name – one reason why we only refer to it as a key wrench. Or as an angle key wrench if the pin features an angle. By the way, an offset screwdriver and an angle key wrench are actually one and the same thing.

The shape is the key advantage

The name tells you what you need to know: thin and angled, that's the secret. Angle key wrenches allow you to access even those screws that are hard to reach. At the same time, the tool is pleasantly lightweight and requires very little space. Short sets or key wrenches in a folding holder will fit the pocket of your trousers just as easily as they do in a tool trolley, in a workshop desk or a workbench. We also stock extra long sets so that your employees are equipped for every screw. Angle key wrenches with a T-handle are particularly practical to use. What’s more, when it comes to materials, we trust in professional quality for use by professionals, from chrome vanadium steel to titanium.

It’s always best to get yourself a pair of work gloves at the same time. This will make turning screws easier. Also take a look at our wide range of other hand tools, from pliers to sockets and bits in all shapes and sizes. Or purchase a tool kit so you’ll be perfectly equipped with all the basics.
