Lifting Equipment
Lifting equipment for every job and load
Even the strongest of workers will end up admitting defeat sometimes. And for the sake of their health, they should be encouraged to. It's easier to use lifting equipment anyway. After all, these strong helpers can transport loads and put them down in the right spot more safely, and thereby structure work processes in the company – from the warehouse to the workshop – much more efficiently. Find out which products from the range offered by kaiserkraft are the right ones for the lifting and stacking activities at your company right here.
Lifting equipment: are there any important differences to note when making a choice?
Yes, there are. Adding the term floor conveyors might help make the difference more obvious. These include all stacking and lifting equipment that is primarily designed for transporting loads. Pallet trucks or fork lift trucks are the best examples.
Classic lifting devices, in contrast, such as cranes, are useful, stationary products that use a specific action radius to raise and position heavy loads. They are particularly suitable for use when you need to move heavy machinery during operations, or you wish to use certain tools.
The question is therefore which functions your device should provide: do you need it for transporting goods or for lifting goods? This, in turn, will result in additional factors when choosing pallet trucks, lifting tables and similar products.
Which lifting equipment are essential for my business?
This will, of course, depend on the volume of loads needing to be transported or moved around in your company, and in which form. The daily work we have done with our customers has demonstrated that there are two devices that are particularly versatile:
- Pallet trucks or fork lift trucks are needed in practically every industry as soon as goods arrive on pallets or need to be packed on them for shipment.
- Mini lifters also provide extremely versatile functions, and the unlimited choice of accessories and custom-made models available make them real problem solvers – in workshops in particular.
Which factors is it important to note when choosing lifting equipment and lifting devices?
You'll only find devices at kaiserkraft which you are allowed to operate without requiring a corresponding driver's licence. The occupational health and safety regulations do, however, always apply.
Factors to note when choosing a device are, first of all:
- The weight and dimensions of the goods
- The required lifting range (vertical)
- The fork length and distance across forks of the device for pallet trucks
Whatever the transport equipment, such as stackers, you are considering, choosing the right rollers is also decisive. The type of floor, along with weighing up whether smooth running or rolling resistance is more important, may end up making a decisive different to operations. You can find more information about this in the purchasing guide to wheels and castors.
Furthermore, you should always double check whether the device you are interested in really does suit the load you calculated. Or, put concisely, due to the load centre and for reasons of stability, you will usually need a device that features a higher maximum load bearing capacity than your well-informed guess might suggest. A device with a higher max. load will also extend the range of jobs you can use your load bearer for.
